Our Sorority

National History

Delta Phi Omega Sorority Inc. was established on December 6, 1998 at the University of Houston by 16 incredible women from various backgrounds. Through perseverance and determination, the national founding mothers created an organization that supports the advancement and unity of South Asian women. The Founders created the backbone of this sorority on the basis of the five pillars; Sisterhood, Respect, Loyalty, Honesty, and Friendship and envisioned an organization that not only highlights diverse South Asian culture, but brings together people from all different backgrounds and ethnicities. Our Sorority is currently the largest and fastest growing South Asian sorority with over 2000 sisters across the nation. With the support of our sisters and the guidance of our founders, each of our sisters is truly Destined to Prevail Against All Odds.

Our Philanthropy

The Philanthropy of Delta Phi Omega Sorority Inc. is Children's Literacy and Education. Each year, each chapter and colony organizes a week filled with fundraisers and charity events called Literacy through Unity Week to help raise money for the cause. Each year one of our three beneficiaries, Asha for Education, Pratham or CARE is chosen to receive that money. Our sorority has raised over $75,000 so far and continues to work tirelessly towards providing children with the resources they need to succeed.
